Detroit Lions RB2 Isiah Pacheco has been placed on IR and will miss a minimum of 4 games.
The Detroit Lions announced a couple moves Tuesday, most notably adding running back Isiah Pacheco to injured reserve.
This answers the question of a corresponding move the Lions had to make when they signed Tyler Conklin earlier today. Conklin will fill that spot.
Pacheco had suffered a knee injury during training camp, but per Dan Campbell, the running back was nursing a back injury during the final weeks.
Detroit now has to rely on four running backs: Jahmyr Gibbs, Sione Vaki, Jacob Saylors, and Jabari Small.
This may answer the question as to why the Lions were holding on to 5 running backs when the 53-man roster was released yesterday. They need the depth.
The Lions also signed WR Dominic Lovett to fill their 16th and final practice squad spot. Lovett, who was drafted by the Lions in 2025 in the 7th round, is the third wide receiver on the practice squad, joining Tom Kennedy and Lucky Jackson. This provides some nice depth for a room that is thin, as the Lions only decided to roster 4 receivers on their 53-man roster.
