Updated Detroit Lions Practice Squad:

Wide receiver Tom Kennedy

Defensive tackle Chris Smith

Defensive lineman Ben Stille

Defensive lineman Tyre West

Cornerback Nick Whiteside

Offensive Lineman Elijah Klein (Signed Today)

After all of the roster craziness, the Lions announced the signing of Ty Conklin on Tuesday to the 53-man roster. Conklin was one of the surprising roster cuts when it was announced on Sunday evening.

Conklin is a Michigan native and Central Michigan University alum who brings extensive veteran experience to the team.

A wise decision by the Lions to bring the 8-year vet back, as both Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright missed time with injuries last year, and Jackson Meeks is new to the position.

To make room for Conklin, the Lions have to release a player or place a player on injured reserve. That corresponding move should be announced later today by the team. The Lions will also announce the addition of offensive lineman Elijah Klein to the team’s practice squad.
