Starting off the road trip with a big two points in Nashville.
NASHVILLE — The Sharks were looking for a big two points to get their east coast swing off to a good start.

Captain Macklin delivered once again. Scoring the game-winning goal in the third round of the shootout after big saves by goalie Alex Nedeljkovic.
“Great shot,” Nedeljkovic said. “He’s been trying that all year in practice, I feel like. It’s nice to see him get rewarded. It’s a hard move for me (to save). … He put it in a perfect spot.”
Nedeljkovic stopped Ross Colton at the other end in the third round to conclude a brilliant performance as the Sharks earned a key two points and their first win in regulation of the season.
This was only Nedeljkovic’s second start of the season; he finished with 32 saves, including huge saves in overtime to keep the Sharks alive.
Mason Marchment opened the scoring for the Sharks, netting a goal with 5:30 remaining in the first period, assisted by Tyler Tofoli. Will Smith scored the other regulation goal with 4:28 left in the third period off a feed from defenseman Kesselring to give the Sharks a 2-0 lead.
The lead didn’t stand for long. The Predators responded quickly as Nedeljkovic made a huge save on a Jonathan Marchessault one-timer, but Ryan O’Reilly was in front and was able to put the rebound past Nedeljkovic to make it 2-1. In the final minute of regulation, the predators were able to tie it on a Steven Stamkos goal.
The Sharks are now 4-3-0 on the season and sit in 5th place in the Pacific Division with eight points.
Up next on the six game road trip is a stop in Detroit to play the Red Wings. Puck drop is at 4 PM PST.
