The Lions made a few more roster moves on Monday ahead of their season opener on Sunday.
Detroit started the week with two vacancies on the 53-man roster.
The Lions announced that they signed LB Joe Bachie to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Bachie gives the Lions some extra depth in a crowded linebacker room. Bachie is a six-year veteran with seven career starts. He played college football at Michigan State University.
Detroit also signed center Seth McLaughlin and running back Jabari Small to the practice squad. These two moves were expected, as both players made the initial 53-man roster but were waived later for roster maneuvering.
To clear the additional spot on the practice squad, the Lions placed offensive lineman Mason Miller on injured reserve.
The Lions have one vacancy left on the 53-man roster, and I would count on the spot being given to Tom Kennedy, who will likely be the team’s punt and kick returner in Week 1.
