Warriors Roll in Los Angeles on Opening Night

The wait is over, and the Warriors are back. The Warriors gave a lot of us some cautious optimism with their win on Tuesday night. There is a lot to look forward to, especially with their new lineup featuring Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler III, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Al Horford.

Jimmy Butler scored 31 points, including a perfect 16-16 at the free throw line. Steph added 23 points, and that was enough to overcome Luka Doncic’s 43-point performance. LeBron James was out and missed his first opening night in his illustrious 23-year career. Jonathan Kuminga had a very impressive and efficient opening night with 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. A very impressive night from the young rising star who is fresh off a new contract from this summer.

It was a very tight game for much of the first half. As the 2nd half got underway, we got a glimpse at the 3rd Quarter Warriors, who were alive and well, going on a 19-4 run to open a lead that grew to 17 that was eventually too much for LA to overcome, leading to a Warriors 10 point win.

There were a lot of positives from opening night, especially offensively. The Warriors’ home opener is on Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets at 7 PM PST at Chase Center.
