Total Domination: Lions destroy Cowboys in 47-9 Win in Dallas

The Lions came into week 6 against the Cowboys with revenge on their minds dating back to last year. Everyone remembers the end of the Week 17 game in Dallas with the controversial call on if Taylor Decker reported. In preparation for this game, it seemed like the Lions threw out what happened last year and there was no revenge on their mind, but after yesterday, that was far from the truth. They were on a mission to dominate Dallas.

The Lions hung nearly 50 points on the Cowboys and dominated them in every phase of the game. But it seemed like the game didn’t matter after Aidan Hutchinson went down with a catastrophic leg injury early in the third quarter. Losing Hutchinson for the rest of the season will definitely hurt the Lions defense, as he was on a tear to start this season with 7.5 sacks in 6 games and was most certainly a frontrunner for defensive player of the year. But, in the end, the Lions didn’t let off the gas and got the win for Hutchinson.

Jared Goff was elite once again. Coming off his perfect performance against Seattle, Goff nearly matched that performance on Sunday. 18-25 passing, 325 yards, and 3 passing touchdowns. Goff threw his first touchdown of the day on an amazing flea flicker to Sam Laporta. Later, he threw a 37-yard dime to Jameson Williams and finished his day with a touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Aaron Glenn deserves his flowers as well. His defense held the Cowboys to only nine points and 251 total yards. Brian Branch intercepted Dak Prescott twice and had a forced fumble.

The Lions have their first divisional game next week, and it’s a big one, on the road against the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings.
