Jared Goff is Perfect, The Lions roll in 42-29 win over Seattle

The Lions entered Week 4 against Seattle with high hopes of ending of a 6-game losing streak against the Seahawks, and they did that in style tonight.

The Lions offense was on fire against the Seahawks. Led by Jared Goff’s perfect stat line. 18-18 for 292 yards, two passing touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 155.8 passer rating. It doesn’t get much better than that. Oh, and I forgot, his seven-yard touchdown reception from a perfect pass from Amon-Ra St. Brown. No incompletions and three total touchdowns helped the Lions improve to 3-1 on the season heading into a bye week.

Per ESPN, Goff’s perfect stat line of 18 for 18, was a record for the most passing attempts without an incompletion.

This game really feels like the first game this season where we saw the Lions offense we all fell in love with the last two years: high scoring, big chunk plays, and elite red zone efficiency. Something we haven’t seen from the Lions offense throughout the first three games, so hopefully, this is a sign that the offense is out of their slump and back to being electric and high scoring.

Geno Smith and the Seahawks did give the Lions defense a tough test, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the explosive Detroit offense. Geno threw the ball 50+ times for 395 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. There are some things the defense needs to tighten up. It was a rough night for the Lions secondary as they had multiple pass interference and defensive holding penalties that extended Seattle drives and ended up leading to Seattle touchdowns.

With the Lions win tonight, they improve to 3-1 on the season with a bye week upcoming and a showdown in Dallas after. The Lions are currently a game back and second in the division as the Vikings sit in first with perfect record of 4-0.
